There are no two more well known and internationally respected Israeli organizations which provide safety and security for all the people of Israel more than the IDF and Magen David Adom.  Whether within Israel's borders or beyond, MDA and the IDF provide a sense of safety and security for all Israelis  - more than any others.

Recently, Sar El and the American Friends of Magen David Adom (AFMDA), the two organizations that provide most significant outside resources to these organizations respectively, have been working together ever more closely.  Sar El provides thousands of volunteers to the IDF each year to supplement it’s essential mission, protecting the borders and the home front and relieving personnel for tasks that are more urgent.  AFMDA raises tens of millions of dollars a year to provide ambulances, equipment, supplies, training, new EMS stations and other facilities through which MDA is able to carry out its critical lifesaving work.

Since 2008, a growing number of Sar El groups have put site visits and briefings with the American Friends of Magen David Adom on their Israel itineraries.  Hundreds of Sar El volunteers have visited MDA facilities and participated in important briefings. Some leaders and regular volunteers in Sar El are also leaders and important donors to AFMDA. 

We are proud to announce the launch of a joint effort between Sar El and AFMDA to encourage and recruit all Sar El volunteers to donate funds toward the purchase and dedication of a new ambulance in honor General Aharon Davidi, Sar El's visionary founder. Doing this, Sar El volunteers will be able to magnify their commitment to Israel and multiply the effect of their participation.
