Ambassador and Mrs. Martin J. Silverstein and children of Merion Station, PA dedicated the first Mobile Intensive Care Unit of 2012 to MDA in memory of their father and grandfather, HAROLD SILVERSTEIN, formerly of Elizabeth, NJ.  At a ceremony at Lower Merion Synagogue, they were joined by Mrs. Lila Silverstein (second from left), family and friends.

Brothers of Israel in Newtown, PA, hosts evangelicals at pro-Israel rally and focuses on 'what brings us together'

Christians outnumbered Jews two to one in the sanctuary as members joined forces with a group of evangelical Christian Zionists in a show of support for Israel.  The 300 people in the standing-room-only crowd came from six curches and six synagogues.  From left to right are Lou Balcher, Consulate of Israel, Philadelphia; Sharon Schmidt, AFMDA Greater Philadelphia Area Director; Rabbi Shalom Plotkin; Frank Ujfalusi, Salute to Israel committee; Bill Sutter, the Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry; Raslan Abu Rukun, Deputy Consul General of Israel, Philadelphia; and Edgar House, Bucks County Jewish National Fund.

 

Rabbi Adam Feldman Receives the AFMDA Princeton Area 2011 Life Line Humanitarian Award

Ambulance Dedication at Main Line Reform Temple-Beth Elohim in Wynnewood, PA

Local Leaders Recognized

AFMDA 70/70 Honorees Robert Cohen, Noga Gold and Naaman King were recognized amongst 45 friends and community leaders in a ceremony hosted by Consul General of Israel Daniel Kutner and Dr. Shirley Kutner.  Their stories of commitment to Israel were told and AFMDA CEO Arnold Gerson shared a moving personal story of MDA saving the life of his own niece while she was serving in the IDF.  From left to right are honorees Marian and Naaman King, Philadelphia Chairman Norman Zarwin, honoree Noga Gold, Consul General Daniel Kutner, AFMDA Greater Philadelphia Area Director Sharon Schmidt, Dr. Shirley Kutner, honoree Robert Cohen, and AFMDA CEO Arnold Gerson.

Pennsylvania Legislators and Jewish Federation members Went On A Fact Finding Mission in Israel and Met With MDA

  Princeton Mercer Bucks UJF "Prime Time" Women's Division

Prime Time Women's Division of United Federation of Princeton Mercer Bucks hosted AFMDA for a luncheon themed "Israel's Response to Disasters:  How we join together to provide services and hope for a better future," with guest speaker Sharon Schmidt, AFMDA Greater Phila Area Director. Two Philadelphians Honored

The Philadelphia Friends of AFMDA honored Norman P. Zarwin and E. Harris Baum, founding shareholders of Zarwin Baum DeVito Kaplan Schaer Toddy, P.C., with the 2009 Lifeline Award, in recognition of their longtime commitment to the Jewish Community and the people of Israel. Proceeds from the event will benefit the William H. Bloomberg MDA Jerusalem Station.

Star To Star Ride

Bucks County Friends of AFMDA and Star of David Bikers teamed up for a fundraising ride, show and festival.  Bikers came from as far as Atlanta, Virginia and New York for the event.
